Undergraduate education and formal university admissions under KU's own official criteria and announcements.
A collaboration in education & professional learning
A degree.
Your future.
In aviation.
Connect university study with a chosen aviation training direction. Discover the proposed pilot, aircraft maintenance, management and engineering pathways — and the requirements behind each choice.
This is a proposed framework for consultation, not an approved admissions offer or a guarantee of any licence or qualification.

Flight training activities, where applicable, under the current approval scope and relevant training requirements.

Professional-training information, pathway coordination and an initial contact point for programme enquiries.
01 / FIND YOUR PATH
One starting point.
Many future pathways.
Start with your interests, then explore the study, training and qualification requirements of each pathway. Five directions, not five automatically awarded qualifications.
Foundation / Pilot
Degree + PPL
Explore university foundations and an optional private-pilot training direction, subject to eligibility and programme rules.
Important pathway notes
PPL is not required for every pathway. Any flying hours counted toward a later licence remain subject to applicable rules.
Professional Pilot
Professional pilot
A proposed progression towards CPL training and ATPL theoretical knowledge under the relevant approved ATO scope.
Important pathway notes
ATPL theoretical knowledge is not an ATPL licence. Completion does not automatically grant a pilot licence.
Technical pathway
Aircraft maintenance
Explore CAT A1 training and distinct B1.1 module preparation or examination options, depending on the chosen programme.
Important pathway notes
CAT A1 training and B1.1 modules are not a single automatic licence route. Experience and issuing-authority requirements still apply.
Business & Operations
Aviation management
Connect academic learning with aviation operations, business, organisational systems and future management roles.
Important pathway notes
Specific awards, entry criteria and programme structure must be confirmed in the university's official publications.
Technical & Academic
Engineering / IDDP
Explore an engineering-oriented academic route and any international study options covered by confirmed institutional agreements.
Important pathway notes
Any KU–RMIT degree arrangement, awards, duration and overseas costs must be verified; a dual degree is not guaranteed by this page.
These pathways describe a proposed framework for consultation. Formal admission announcements, approved syllabi, agreements and regulator requirements determine the actual outcomes. Images are conceptual illustrations, not photographs of KU, TFTS or WeFly activities.

Example professional-pilot progression from the September 2026 planning version. Other pathways have their own academic and professional requirements.
- 01
Before Year 1
Prepare & plan
Explore your chosen pathway. Check English, maths, medical readiness and any optional PPL plans.
- 02
Years 1–2
Degree & aviation foundations
University study and foundational preparation. These years are not represented as formal ATO-controlled CPL/ATPL theoretical instruction.
- 03
Years 3–4
Training under an ATO
Where the professional pilot route applies, the proposed plan starts formal approved-scope ATO theoretical instruction from Year 3.
- 04
Beyond study
Qualification & next steps
Examinations, training evidence, practical experience and licensing decisions remain separate and depend on the relevant authority.
The project plan refers to approximately 650 hours of ATO-controlled theoretical instruction and 200 flying hours for the proposed pilot progression. Actual hours, credits and syllabus requirements are determined by the applicable approvals and regulations.
03 / YOUR TRAINING BASE
Bang Nam Priao Airport
A planned new flight training base.
The proposed learning environment links classroom preparation with supervised flight training, checklists, briefings and post-training reviews.
- Before training
- Review flight plans, weather and readiness
- During training
- Training under instructor supervision and applicable rules
- After training
- Debrief, records and continuous improvement
Planned base only. Airport layout, facilities, operating date, aircraft availability and authorisations are not confirmed here.
04 / START WITH A CONVERSATION
Not sure
which pathway suits you?
Prospective students and families can start by discussing goals, readiness and the official documents required before making any admission or payment decision.
Ask about the programme- 01
Choose your area of interest
Pilot, aircraft maintenance, management or engineering
- 02
Check eligibility and readiness
University criteria, language, medical fitness where applicable and training prerequisites
- 03
Obtain official plans and details
Confirm syllabus, approval scope, admission dates, costs, inclusions and any contract terms before payment
05 / PLAN WITH CLARITY
Costs, commitments
and official information.
Indicative budgets in the September 2026 project material are planning estimates, not current offers or contracts. Tuition, training, tax, overseas costs, payment schedules, refund terms and exclusions must be confirmed for the chosen pathway.
Request the latest written fee schedule and admission announcement before making a payment.
06 / GOOD QUESTIONS, CLEAR ANSWERS
Frequently asked
questions.
Does every pathway include PPL, CPL or aircraft maintenance qualifications?
No. Each pathway has its own curriculum and requirements. PPL, CPL, ATPL theoretical knowledge, CAT A1 and B1.1 modules are not a package that every student receives.
Does ATPL theoretical knowledge mean I receive an ATPL licence?
No. ATPL theoretical knowledge is separate from an ATPL licence. Passing examinations and completing training do not automatically grant a licence.
Does completing CAT A1 or B1.1 modules grant a maintenance licence?
No. CAT A1 training and B1.1 module examinations are distinct. Practical experience, approved scope and issuing-authority rules must also be satisfied.
Is the planned Bang Nam Priao training base already operational?
The new Bang Nam Priao Airport is identified as a planned training base. This page does not assert that its facilities, start date or approvals are currently confirmed.
Are the 650 theory and 200 flying hours regulator minimums?
No. Those figures appear in the September 2026 programme planning materials. Actual training must follow the applicable approved syllabus and current regulatory requirements.
Are fees, admissions and international degrees confirmed?
Not by this page. University admissions, fee schedules, refunds, KU–RMIT arrangements and any international study options require current official agreements and announcements.
Does completing a pathway guarantee employment or overseas licence conversion?
No. Employer requirements, practical experience and licensing or conversion rules depend on the relevant organisation and jurisdiction.
